Camping...

Good things about camping...
Spending time with my family, sitting around a warm campfire when it's cold and grey, roasting marshmallows, stars, bird songs, fuzzy caterpillers, camp crafts, making jiffy pop popcorn on the campstove, gooey warm grilled cheese for lunch, candle light breakfast, hiking many miles, chipmunks, bunnies, deer, bird watching, swimming, hobo dinners, being really tired at bedtime.

Bad things about camping...
Cold grey days, rain, spiders, killer raccoons getting into our screen porch every night scaring the crap out of us! (we kept our food in the van,) being awoken dozens of times by raccoons, campground showers...so gross, the restroom being really super far from our campsite especially at 4:00am with killer raccoons running amok, zipping and unzipping the tent a million times, washing my hair at 6:00pm and forgetting my blow dryer... wet hair most of the freezing cold night, Brad having to leave for work two days at 6:00am (with the stupid raccoons still on the prowl.)

Hhmmm... I'm sensing a raccoon theme here...
I'm glad you stayed safe, and relatively warm and dry. It sounds like there were many wonderful moments with your family. I love the picture of Noah running on the path.
Jiffy Pop! Haven't had that since I was a kid!

I hope you enjoyed yourselves despite the evil raccoons! Camping is a lot of work but we always have the best time. And the kids get unbelievably dirty... their favorite part! And the memories, good and bad, last a lifetime! I hope Noah had a blast!! How was Hogwarts camp?

Oh no! The weather has been miserable - and for camping! Please plan another one in beautiful weather.

Oh the joys of camping! Hating it but wanting to go back for more. Each time you go it gets a little easier, or maybe I should say that you know better what to expect. We have had plenty of racoon run-ins and they are scary! Glad to hear the cooking turned out though, the food usually makes all things bareable! :) And where does all the laundry come from? I think it multiplies in the car on the ride home!
