Charleton Park/ Flea Market and Historic Village

Saturday we met up with Autumn and Kevin at Charleton Park which has a historic Village. They were also having a flea market that day. Bonus! But the museum part was closed which is weird for a Saturday. That was disappointing because it has a bunch of Civil War artifacts.
We had a good time walking in and out of the historic homes, businesses and the school house.

This jail cracked me up!

Catnip Wool felted ball...

I harvested some catnip from the garden and dried it to make some catnip toys.

Three happy Halloween colored cats with the leftover stems.

Harpo patiently waiting and waiting... "Hurry up with that felting would ya?!"

I was going to put a cute design on it, then I quickly remembered past wool felted toys and how they looked after 5 minutes of cat play... so why waste my time and Harpo was getting a little testy waiting for it after awhile. I'm sure the cats won't care if it's not cute.
Harpo makes off with his (he thinks he is soul owner) ball. After all, he did all the waiting:)

Sharing Witches...

I've been spending time searching for free Vintage Halloween Images on the internet. I'm amazed at the wonderful images that people share. It does take a lot of time to search for them but it's worth it. Here's some witches that I have found. Help yourself:) Sharing, it's a good thing!

My Lastest Thrifty Find...

Can you believe it?

$1.99 for a picnic for two basket found at the Good Will! It has a nifty takeout wooden insert in the bottom. It's handmade and signed by the weaver from the Royce Craft Basket Company out of Ohio. Which is now unfortunately out of business.
~I'm thinking a quiet picnic for two... would be lovely!

Halloween Etsy...

I've been working on few Halloween pieces for my shop.
I bought some old vintage shoes from Autumn's Etsy... at least she didn't charge me shipping seeing how they were stored upstairs.
~~~~~~~~~
I came up with a pin cushion shoe, a nice way to showcase your vintage hat pins.
This one is my Witchy version. I do love witches!
~~~~~~~~~~
I bought these awesome hang tags from Etsy and love them!
They are scented with coffee, vanilla and cinnamon! yum...

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather! I'm peeking in on all my bloggy friend and hope to catch up soon.

Yeah, I need some of this...

Chilling...

Harpo taking a snooze.

I feel like I've been going a hunderd miles per hour since the solstice. Summer is usually a time to kick back and re-energize for me. Also a time for art.
So I'm going to work on that. After unpacking and putting the camping supplies away, doing loads of laundry and cleaning the house I need some down time. I started reading a book that a blog friend recommended called The Glass Castle by Janenette Walls. It's a good read, I'm almost finished with it. Working a bit on Autumn's kitchen towel set and did a few homeschooling projects with Noah. (see Purple Squirrel)
Also I've been working on a few new pieces for my Etsy.

Camping...

Good things about camping...
Spending time with my family, sitting around a warm campfire when it's cold and grey, roasting marshmallows, stars, bird songs, fuzzy caterpillers, camp crafts, making jiffy pop popcorn on the campstove, gooey warm grilled cheese for lunch, candle light breakfast, hiking many miles, chipmunks, bunnies, deer, bird watching, swimming, hobo dinners, being really tired at bedtime.

Bad things about camping...
Cold grey days, rain, spiders, killer raccoons getting into our screen porch every night scaring the crap out of us! (we kept our food in the van,) being awoken dozens of times by raccoons, campground showers...so gross, the restroom being really super far from our campsite especially at 4:00am with killer raccoons running amok, zipping and unzipping the tent a million times, washing my hair at 6:00pm and forgetting my blow dryer... wet hair most of the freezing cold night, Brad having to leave for work two days at 6:00am (with the stupid raccoons still on the prowl.)
