October's Birthday Trip Plan

I'm so excited! We've planned our annual October Birthday trip. My son Noah and I share the same birthday:) Each year our family takes a trip somewhere and do something Halloweenish.
This year we're headed south to The Hocking Hills in Ohio. It will be beautiful with the fall colors peaking. We leave on a Friday morning stopping on the way in Circleville Ohio to visit the Pumpkin Festival, then we'll head to the cabin. That evening we are going to The Haunted Waters Wood, a haunted house only it's outside in the woods. Hope it's super scary!!!
Saturday we have a huge day of site seeing planned of visiting caves and waterfalls. Sunday we will wind our way home, stopping here and there.
The Frontier Cabin we've rented with a fireplace and hot tub.

The hot tub:)

What cool birthday plans! I hope that yours and Noah's birthday will be everything you hope, and scarier (in a good way)! Of course you will post pictures and tell us if the ghosts decide to let you know that they are there.

Ooooh...that sounds like a fun time. I love haunted houses!!! I know I've said it before, but I sure love the photo at the top of your blog. Gives me the giggles every time I visit here. ;)

I have to laugh at the hot tub -- too bad our forefathers didn't put some wood-fired hot tubs in those homesteads, might have made pioneer living a bit more bearable!

Your October trip sounds SCARY!

Hocking Hills in SO beautiful – one of our favorite romantic getaways, The Glen Laurel Inn, is located there. (I've heard rumors they have a ghost, too!)
Enjoy your trip, it sounds really great. If your route takes you anywhere near Akron, Medina or Wadsworth, and you have time to meet for a cup of tea, give me a shout. Those are my stomping grounds. :-)

This sounds like too much fun - and a pumpkin festival on the way - what could be better! Enjoy!

Tara,
Oh that would be so awesome! I asked Brad and he said we aren't head in that direction this time. So much to do, so little time.
But when we head to the (dreaded) Cedar Point sometime, we'll get together then:)
Or if for some StRaNgE reason you ever have the desire to head up to Michigan let me know:)
I cannot wait to see the Hocking Hills area! It's going to be beautiful.

We stayed in a Haunted Inn two years ago. IT's the oldest Inn in Michigan. It's suppose to have a lady ghost that wanders the hallways upstairs.
It was so strange because we didn't dare tell Noah about her.
But that kid wanted to wander those halls the entire time we were there!
